This 750 square foot space
for the Italian cashmere retailer was designed
for a select location on New Yorks prestigious
Madison Avenue at 64th Street. A collaborative
effort between Agnonas Italian architect
and Gleicher Design Group facilitated the successful
completion of the project. Rich Italian marble,
quartered oak flooring, custom light fixtures,
and stainless steel compliment the luxurious clothing.
The storefront was conceived as a large picture
frame of stainless steel that elevates the merchandise
inside to the level of artwork. The design is
a combination of contrasting elements, from the
imagined weight of the deep coffered ceiling that
is offset by perimeter lighting to the heavy hammered
marble walls that are lifted by the
illuminated base. Sanded rough glass shelves are
suspended within the smooth and sensual pearwood
frames. The store design resulted in a jewel of
a shop.
